On Friday Metnor Construction attended the 14th annual Constructing Excellence in the North East Awards, at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel. With over 530 construction professionals in attendance, and 15 categories within the awards, it was great to see the industry come together to celebrate the many shining achievements and hard work over the last year.
Metnor was shortlisted in the ‘Innovation’ category, for the work completed on Portland Green Student Accommodation Village. After a fantastic dinner and lots of entertainment, our Project Manager was thrilled to receive ‘Highly Commended’, testament to the work he has put in, and his effective collaboration with the projects supply chain. Innovation is widely recognised as the critical factor for increased and sustained productivity and growth. We are thrilled to have been recognised for our commitments to one of our core values.
Having received special commendation for economic growth in the previous year, Metnor Construction sponsored the ‘SME of the Year’ award, which was awarded to Godfrey Syrett for their sustained growth over 70 years. With the department for Business Innovation and Skills suggesting that 99.9% of UK Construction contracting businesses are SME’s, it is important to support these firms, and note their dominance and contribution to supply chains.
A truly wonderful evening was enjoyed by all – thank you to CENE for hosting such a great evening, we are looking forward to next years celebration already
