This project included the design and construction of a new build 2-storey primary school, built on a greenfield site in Backworth North Tyneside.
The scheme also included car parking spaces, sports pitch, and both hard and soft landscaping, with work commencing in July 2017.
The steel frame construction with SFS infill system is finished with cedral and metal composite cladding.
Site management for this project required close co-operation with local businesses and residences, given the close proximity the site had to a new housing development, Parkside House School and Backworth Golf Course. Our team worked on the logistics to ensure minimum impact and continued access for residents.
As part of our corporate social responsibility, Metnor have buried a time capsule under the school before construction began, filled with letters and photos from current students.
The project completed in September 2018 ahead of the school opening for the new term.

This success would not have been achieved without the commitment, determination and professionalism of the team. No one person can build a new school and it has been a huge team effort to deliver this exemplar facility.
It has been an absolute pleasure and I look forward to working with you all again in the near future."
