The main aim of the project was to increase the internal height of data halls 6 & 10 by 1 meter and increase the electrical and mechanical infrastructure, upgrading it to support 1600kW of IT load.
The removal of existing internal services was required along with the high level structural elements within the halls. Once the new roof extension components were set in place, all high-level services were then reinstated.
To accommodate the increase in load, the IT infrastructure was upgraded as follows:
• Additional generator sets and associated fuel storage
• New package sub-stations
• Modifications to switchboards and transformers
• New UPS output boards
• Full replacement of electrical cabling inclusive of HV works
• Lift modifications
• Leak detection
• Fire suppression replacement
• Update BMS
• Replacement of DFU’s
In addition to this, construction works were carried out including structural steelwork modifications, strip out works, modifications to whitewall and raised access flooring.
