Last week the site team conducted a walk around for our clients TH Real Estate, following the award of Practical Completion of The Point Data Centre in London’s Canary Wharf.

The construction of a shell and core 3 storey data centre facility on Millwall Inner Docks on the Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf. The project has been divided into two phases.

Phase 1 consisted of the demolition of two existing units and the construction of a new building containing a data centre.

Phase 2 involved the demolition of an existing unit, the construction of a new building and a link bridge at second floor level between the two phases.

The new steel framed buildings with braced composite floors comprise of a ground floor, two intermediate floors and a partial roof plant. Lift cores and stairs are of pre-cast concrete. The external elevational treatments are a mixture of granite cladding, glazed curtain walling and integral louvres.
