Supporting Local Communities

Metnor Construction believe that the success of our projects are greatly influenced by early engagement and effective communication with the communities in and around our development sites, to make sure that our activities impact as little as possible on the neighbouring community and that we can share the benefit of our business operations. 

We were approached by Ian Graham, Coach for Redcar Athletic Blues, U16 football team to be the team sponsor, for the new football and training kits. As the club is located a stone’s throw away from our construction site at the Kirkleatham Walled Garden, we did not hesitate to take him up on the offer. The idea of sponsoring a local football team who have not had new strips or training kits for a few years is exactly what we are all about. Ian and the team work tirelessly, putting in hard work and extra effort in all weathers, to provide great opportunities for the young people of Redcar, this is exactly the same values that we have at Metnor Construction, Hard work, Commitment and going the extra mile!

Ian Graham and the football team were delighted with our sponsorship and it is great to see the team look so professional and smart in their new football strips and training kits.

The Walled Garden Project has allowed us to combine our project with supporting the local community. The project is of £5.0m value and will bring the grade II-listed historic Walled Garden back into use after 30 years; creating a mix of formal and produce gardens, events spaces, food and retail opportunities. It will provide a major attraction in the north-east and will support the visitor economy, employment and provides training opportunities in the catering, hospitality and horticulture sectors.

We follow the aims and aspirations of the Considerate Constructors Code of Practice Scheme and seek to continuously improve the image of construction within the community. Engaging in local community activities such as this, we aim to create links with the community to help to promote the positive nature of the construction industry.
