Stadia

The first major project ever awarded to Metnor Construction shortly after the formation of the company came in 2003 with the £12m design and construction of three new stands for Newcastle Falcons Premier League Rugby Football Club at their Kingston Park stadium to the north of Newcastle upon Tyne. This included executive boxes, extensive conference and restaurant facilities as well as fast food outlets, bars and kitchens.

In 2007 we completed a major refurbishment of all the directors boxes along with the construction of a new Sports Bar, corporate hospitality and supporters facilities on a new mezzanine level created under the existing stand at  Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road, ground in Hertfordshire.

This was followed by the design and building of a new west stand for Harlequins Rugby Football Club at their famous Memorial Stoop Ground in Twickenham in 2009.

Stadia projects require particular expertise especially when carrying out work on fully operational grounds where programmes must be met to ensure that the majority of the construction activities are completed out of season to minimise inconvenience to clubs and their fans and income streams can be maintained.
